The flight from Phuket to Singapore begins after a wonderful breakfast in the Nai Yang Beach Marriott Hotel. Our handling agent John takes care that we are picked up at 9 o'clock; the ride to the airport is 15min only. At the airport we're welcomed by the handling crew and guided through the stations in the airport. An airport bus takes us to our aircraft. A few minutes later, the fuel truck for Avgas arrives so that the refueling is handled quickly and we are ready way before the expected time. Our departure was planned for 1100 local. Now we are ready half an hour earlier. We say goodby to our friendly handling crew (young Thai women mostly) and we take seat in the Malibu. ATIS, clearance – everything runs smoothly and we're ready for Taxi to Runway 27.

“Clear for Take-off“ and we're in the air. We glimpse back on beautiful Thailand and take direction to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia takes over and ahead of us mountains of cumulus clouds rise up. We fly around them carefully until we reach the area of Singapore three hours later on FL190. There's heavy traffic in the air. “Clear to descent” and down we go, towards the approach to Singapore Seletar. We take a last look at the approaching maps and are informed by Approach “Vectors to final Runway 27”. We have taken a look at the meters and TAFs in the Avidyne Satellite Weather System and expect good weather and scattered clouds at our destination.

As we can see, ATC sends us around to be guided directly onto the approaching course in a left curve. And there it is, Runway 27. Now it's gear down, flaps 10 and we're ready for landing. We're down quickly and roll to the end of the 6024 ft runway. At its end we're send to a marshaller who guides us into parking position 43. Wonderful, we made it to Singapore.

Our handling agent of our service company WINGS OVER ASIA (http://www.wingsoverasia.com ) is waiting for us with a van and takes us to Immigration. Everything is handled real quick and soon we are in the maintenance area to quickly discuss tomorrow's oil change. Wings over Asia is a perfect service company with huge halls with polished floors. Soon after, we are sitting in a taxi to our hotel.

Malibu maintenance in Singapore: the oil is replaced, the filter too. We are impressed by the maintenance company "Wings over Asia". They are very accurate and service-oriented. Thumbs up!

Here is a short video of our Malibu being towed outside after maintenance:

This afternoon Shaesta Waiz, who flies around the world solo, will have a pit stop for maintenance at Wings over Asia. For those of you who don't know her yet: http://dreamssoar.org/

We managed to meet Shaesta at her aircraft. She's a very interesting woman, who flies around the world to support the rights of women and to inspire young pilots. Here she is in her Bonanza:
