Easter Island | Update 14

Update vom 12.10.2017

Update 12.10.2017

.. still 73 days until Christmas ...

Today our "Cylinder-analysis-expert-specialist” from Chile arrived. He also brought along the ordered modern boroscope, which was lost at FEDEX for a few days and then was delivered to him right before the departure! He then took it personally with him as hand luggage and kept it ready for the inspection!

The examination of the cylinders and a first check have shown that there were no detonations and that there is no damage. The engine is undamaged! This is the most important aspect of the whole disaster! We still have to wait for a more accurate analysis of the boroscope images and an assessment by experts.

There is no short-term solution for the AVGAS delivery in sight. There are no positive indications yet ... For the time being, we ordered AVGAS on the mainland with all the safety requirements - to get the right petrol this time! We have come into contact with the right man who also supplies the Easter Island military with AVGAS! How easy it would be if, with logic and humanity, such exceptional situations were solved: The military leader simply says, "YES, of course - here you have it! Pay or restock immediately after ...! "And NO ONE would have any disadvantage of it ... but the administration in the world ...

Nevertheless, we remain in positive expectation. Tomorrow is an important day, which can give us a final positive statement. So let's wait ...
