Easter Island | Update 10

 Update 30.09.2017

Wir sitzen im Paradies fest. - Stuck in Paradise

Wir sitzen also fest!

What to do?

Also warten.

Update 30.09.2017

Stuck in Paradise

So we are stuck! The situation: Both tanks could be completely emptied and rinsed with AVGAS (from the reserve tank): The digital engine monitor (super software) showed no overheating or limit values exceeded! But we have consulted a specialist concerning  these results. He is of the opinion that the smallest detail in the 6 cylinders has to be inspected and checked with a “Borescope”  before flying. He, the specialist, suspects small detonations that might have caused damage! This is why we absolutely need this device and, if possible, a technician who can use it!

Our research: such a device is not available on the island! What to do? Consultation with Piper Headquarter, where "nearby" we could find a specialist with equipment that could carry out this investigation so that we can get the permit to continue our flight. “The next one lives in Argentina” is the quick answer - well – this is just around the corner! It is weekend…

So we have to wait. BUT the fate is on our side! This island is worth seeing, unique in shape and vegetation (Cf gallery)! There are lots of wild horses, gentle, green volcano hills, roaring bays, palm trees and red-flowered flametrees, black lava rock, cows running in the open and grass-eating with their calves , right with cock and chickens, gaggling around and making in family!

Then these incredibly impressive, heavy stone figures: called MOAI, who look at us pilots seriously and emphatically. Just like that, they lie in the middle of the country or stand and wait ...

And here we are again on the subject of "WAITING" - no idea how for long !? We do our best!

Keep your fingers crossed for us!
