Easter Island | Update 07

25.09.

The Easter Islands have their own laws. Since they are so far away from the mainland and other islands, life proceeds at a different pace. We thought we could continue our flight after 3 days - that was a mistake! Supply ships sometimes are anchored for 14 days before the cargo can be landed. Our ship, the Iorana-Cargo, lied at anchor for over a week, until finally the sea permitted to land the cargo via barges.

Then the two barrels had to be taken to the airport to our Malibu with a truck by Christian of Edmunds and we finally could pump the AVGAS with our hand pump into the tanks of the Malibu.

Now we are ready to join the next part of the trip to the Robinson Crusoe Islands. Departure is planned for 0900 local time tomorrow. We have to open the airport 30 minutes earlier (for a fee, of course) so that we can start punctually at 0900 local time, because we have to reach Robinson Crusoe Airport in daylight, because there are no landing lights.

Time for a prayer: Please God give us sufficient tailwind - yes, according to the prediction of the German weather service, which I have asked to be on the safe side, there should be enough. So, we are ready for the Robinson Crusoe Islands - we are already expected by the Ecolodge!
